A man has been arrested in Nanaimo in connection with a violent home invasion in Sicamous last week.
A 59 year old woman with terminal cancer was bound and kicked by two men with guns who stole several items from her home in Sicamous Oct. 24th.
Crown Counsel has approved six charges against 37 year old Robert Christopher Bomba including forcible confinement, disguising the face while committing an offence, and assault causing bodily harm
Bomba was arrested by Nanaimo RCMP on two outstanding arrest warrants from the Sicamous RCMP.
“The warrants were for charges of Failing to Comply with Probation and Driving while Prohibited,” says Cpl. Dan Moskaluk.
Bomba is currently held in custody in Nanaimo.

Sicamous RCMP have located a stolen vehicle, a 2003 white Ford pick-up truck, associated to Wednesday’s home invasion robbery in which a terminally ill woman was held at knife point and assaulted.
However, police say the suspects are still at large.

RCMP in Sicamous are investigating a violent home invasion where a terminally ill woman was held at knife point and kicked in the face.
Two men with handguns forced their way into a home on Kappel Street Wednesday morning, stealing a couple of safes, jewellery and prescription drugs.
A female suspect waited outside the home.
The 59 year old female occupant was bound and assaulted before the suspects fled in a white Ford dual-wheeled pickup truck, which was stolen out of Armstrong earlier.
The woman, who has terminal cancer, suffered a broken nose in the incident police do not believe was a random attack.
“She stated to investigators that she was held at gun point and kicked in the face during the alleged assault,” says Cpl.Dan Moskaluk.
“RCMP Police Dog Service from Vernon along with Southeast District Air Services assisted in efforts to locate the suspects, who are still at large. While the investigation is still in its early stages, police do not believe this was a random attack.”
A vehicle matching the description used in this home invasion was reported stolen out of Armstrong sometime overnight on October 24.
That vehicle is a white 2003 Ford F-350 dually with BC license plate DN5358. There is a distinctive rack in the box with orange clearance lights on the cab roof.
Currently the vehicle remains outstanding and the occupants are considered to be armed and dangerous.
“Should the vehicle and occupants be seen, police ask the public to not approach them and dial 911 immediately,” adds Moskaluk.
