October Ends with a Win

Vipers Rally Past Saints 3-2 to Close Out Alberta Road Trip

Oct 31, 2026 | 9:24 PM

Spruce Grove, AB:  The Vernon Vipers completed their five-game Alberta road trip on a winning note, rallying in the third period for a 3-2 victory over the Spruce Grove Saints on Saturday night.

It was the second consecutive game in which Vernon overcame a third-period deficit, following Friday night’s dramatic 5-4 overtime comeback victory against the Sherwood Park Crusaders.

Van Martin led the way offensively with a goal and an assist, while Mason Kim deflected home the eventual game-winning goal. Toms Trockis also scored for Vernon.

Goaltender Olivér Király turned in another strong performance, making 30 saves on 32 shots to earn his second win of the weekend.

Felix Haibock provided all of the offence for Spruce Grove, scoring his 13th and 14th goals of the season. Saints goaltender Alexander Levshyn finished with 26 saves on 29 shots in the loss.

The Vipers spent much of the game playing from behind before finding their offence in the third period, continuing a trend that saw them erase a four-goal deficit in Sherwood Park less than 24 hours earlier.

With the victory, Vernon finishes its five-game road trip with a 2-3-0 record. The Vipers close out October at 8-3-1 and improve to 11-4-1 through 16 games this season.

Vernon now returns to Kal Tire Place for a pair of home games next weekend against the West Kelowna Warriors and Coquitlam Express.
