The candidate added she was excited for the opportunity to contribute to decisions made that impact children, families, schools and the broader community.

“I won’t pretend to have all the answers, and I don’t believe a trustee should,” Fortin stated.

“I believe the role is to listen to the people closest to the issues, ask questions, understand different perspectives, and work together as a Board to make informed decisions with every student in mind.”

Votes for the school trustees will be cast as part of the local general election Oct. 17.
