Creek crossing maintenance work done, but one bridge remains closed

Maintenance has been completed at six creek crossings in Vernon, though one needs more work.

The maintenance involved concrete rehabilitation, erosion protection and vegetation management at the crossings of Vernon Creek and Lower BX Creek. 

A city staff report stated that, during the work, extensive deterioration was uncovered at the bridge between the Vernon Recreation Centre and the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre.

That pedestrian crossing remained closed while a detailed structural assessment was completed to determine how to repair it best.
