Protecting rural lifestyle a key focus for an RDNO director candidate

A new name is being thrown into the ring to serve the people of the Rural Lumby area.

Paul Anderson announced he would run for the RDNO Electoral Area D Director seat in the fall municipal election.

The Tolko employee, hunter and fisherman said he wants to support local citizens, families, farms and businesses, while still protecting the area’s natural resources.

“I understand the challenges and opportunities our community faces because I’ve lived them,” Anderson said in a release.

“I’m running to ensure local residents have a strong, practical voice at the Regional District table and that decisions are made with the best interests of our community in mind.”

The key focuses of Anderson’s campaign will involve fiscal responsibility, protecting rural lifestyles, supporting local industries and recreation, maintaining essential infrastructure, and ensuring citizens have a say in community decisions.

“I believe good local government starts with listening,” the candidate stated.

“People want practical solutions, transparency, and someone who understands their community. My commitment is to be accessible, accountable, and focused on delivering results for Electoral Area D.”

The local general election takes place on Oct. 17.
