Brittney Sykes has immediate impact on return to Toronto Tempo’s lineup
TORONTO — It seems like Brittney Sykes should have worked on her negotiating skills during a two-month stint on the Toronto Tempo’s injured list.
Sykes had 15 points and five assists in 21 minutes of play in Toronto’s 101-95 loss to the Indiana Fever on Tuesday. It was her first game back in the Tempo’s lineup after she suffered a left plantar fascia injury in a June 16 game against the Fever and she tried to get more time on the court from head coach Sandy Brondello.
“I haggled for some more minutes, being added to the back,” joked Sykes at Toronto’s post-game news conference.
“I would have loved to have added them on,” interjected Brondello.
