RDNO urges preparation amid ongoing wildfire risk
The Regional District of North Okanagan has urged people to be prepared as wildfire risks persist in the area.
The RDNO reminded people that Emergency Alerts are issued when there’s a potential risk, and Evacuation Orders go out when people need to leave their homes due to a threat to life and safety.
Even before these events occur, the RDNO urged people to take steps to be ready for emergencies
- Write an Emergency Plan for the entire household, including for people, pets and livestock
- Build Emergency Kits and Grab-and-Go Bags, containing copies of important documents, medication, and enough supplies to last at least three days
- Sign up for a B.C. Services Account
