May 12, 2026 | 12:48 PM

Local police have asked the public for assistance in identifying a suspect in a robbery in downtown Vernon.

At 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, the suspect alleged that he was struck by a vehicle and demanded the driver hand over money as compensation.

The driver refused, leading to the suspect assaulting the victim and forcing him to withdraw money from an ATM.

“We haven’t been able to identify the suspect yet and are asking for the public’s help,” Const. Chris Terleski, Media Relations Officer for the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP, stated.

“We’re circulating the photos hoping someone will recognize the person and contact us so we can advance our investigation.”
