RCMP paegentry to be on display in Armstrong for a worthy cause

A symbol of Canadian heritage and pride in support of a good cause will come to Armstrong this summer.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police Musical Ride will hold three performances at the Armstrong Fair Grounds.

The Musical Ride showcases Canada’s national police force through a choreographed display of horsemanship performed by a troop of Mounties and their steeds.

The shows will go August 13 at 3 p.m., and August 16 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

“The Musical Ride is a truly special experience that reflects the professionalism, heritage, and pride of the RCMP,” Superintendent Blake MacLeod of the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP said.

“I encourage everyone to come out, enjoy this remarkable show, and support an organization that makes a meaningful difference for local children and families.”

The event will support Cops for Kids, in partnership with the Armstrong Kin Club. Cops for Kids is a charitable organization that assists children who have suffered a medical, physical or traumatic crisis, while the Kin Club is a group dedicated to serving the community’s needs.

The Thomas Alan Budd Foundation has also taken on the role of presenting the Musical Ride.

“Supporting this event is an incredible honour,” Tom Budd said.

“The RCMP Musical Ride represents the very best of Canadian tradition and excellence. We are proud to be aligned with the RCMP to bring this experience to the community while raising critical funds for children supported by Cops for Kids.”

The showcase will also feature a range of family friendly activities and demonstrations over the two days. The Musical Ride steeds will also be stabled on-site and people will be able to visit them and their riders from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on both days of the event.
