$500 Grants

Grants on offer for community projects

Apr 1, 2026 | 12:33 PM

People and community groups looking to run projects for their neighbourhoods could be eligible for some financial aid.

Community Foundation North Okanagan is running its Neighbourhood Small Grants program, offering up to $500 to help residents turn their ideas into community projects.

Those can include community gardens, art projects, block parties, or other events or projects.

“Neighbourhood Small Grants are all about empowering local people to make a difference where they live,” Lisa Deargle, CFNO’s Community Coordinator, said.

“What makes this program so special is that even a small amount of funding can create a real ripple effect — bringing people together, sparking new relationships, and helping communities build on their own ideas, strengths, and generosity.”

People interested in putting together a community project and would like some financial aid in doing so can apply to the program online here starting April 7.

The funds are only available to residents and volunteer-led neighbourhood or community groups, and will not be awarded to charities, non-profits or businesses.
