Lumby shooting lands one in hospital, one in custody

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP are investigating a shooting that occurred on Schwartz Road in Lumby Tuesday afternoon.

Officers responded shortly after 4:20 p.m. to reports of shots fired, finding a 60-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

The Southeast District Emergency Response Team assisted local officers, and by 7 p.m., a suspect was located and arrested safely.

Police say the incident appears to be isolated with no ongoing risk to the public.
