Murder trial resumed at Vernon court

Feb 3, 2026 | 10:06 AM

The trial involving a death of a person found in the Six Mile Creek area in May of 2022 resumed at the Vernon courthouse Monday.

Peter Visintainer was back in court Feb. 3 where he faced a charge of first degree murder in the death of Wolf Ingo Beyer.

The trial began in August of 2025 but was paused as the defence sought a private psychiatric report to determine if the accused was not criminally responsible for any actions due to a mental disorder.

The B.C. Prosecution Service confirmed with Vernon Matters the trial has resumed and the Crown closed its case Monday. The trial continues with the defence making its case and presenting evidence Tuesday.
