Kelowna snowboarder going to the Olympics

A snowboarder that calls Kelowna home is heading to Italy for the winter games.

Tess Critchlow, who hails from Prince George, B.C., but lives in Kelowna, is heading to the Milano Cortina Olympics to participate in the Snowboard Cross event.

This will be Crithchlow’s third appearance at the winter games.

At the 2022 Beijing Olympics, the local snowboarder finished sixth in the Women’s Snowboard Cross, and placed ninth in the Mixed Team Snowboard Cross.

She also placed ninth at the Women’s Snowboard Cross event at the Pyeongchang games.

The 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics will run Feb. 4 to 22.

The Women’s Snowboard Cross events will take place on Feb.13, and the mixed event will happen on Feb. 15.
