B.C. Assessment Values

Assessed property values in Vernon unchanged on an annual basis, fluctuated elsewhere

Jan 15, 2026 | 2:29 PM

There were no changes on a year-over-year basis to Vernon’s assessed property values, but that wasn’t the case for the surrounding communities.

B.C. Assessment said in its annual report that the typical assessed median value for single family homes in Vernon was $721,000, while strata values were $400,000.

Both those figures were unchanged on an annual basis.

B.C. Assessment said no change to an assessed value would mean the property owner was unlikely to see any changes to their property taxes, though did note that changes within the community could impact those rates.

While Vernon did not see any changes to its property assessment median values, there were some fluctuations across the North Okanagan, Central Okanagan, and Shuswap.

Additionally, B.C. Assessment said the Southern Interior’s total assessments increased from about $323 billion in 2025 to almost $330 billion in 2026, adding over $5.29 billion of that growth was from new construction, subdivisions and property rezoning.
