Possible raise for Lake Country firefighters

Lake Country’s paid on-call firefighters may get a raise.

Members may make as much as $29 per hour by 2027 if council approves a new pay plan on Tuesday.

Depending on their positions, firefighters could see their hourly rate rise from between $18.75 to $27 in July, and increasing to between $23 and $29 an hour by 2027.

Starting this month, wages would go up, callout pay rules would be clearer, and firefighters who use their own phones for work would get a $100 dollar annual stipend.
