Westside Road expected to partially re-open Monday

There’s some good news for residents who’ve been effectively cut-off from going south to West Kelowna and beyond following the landslide across Westside Road Tuesday night.

The Ministry of Transportation and Transit figures it’ll reopen to single-lane-alternating traffic sometime on Monday.

Repairs to the road this weekend include debris removal and the installation of new culverts at the washout site.

The ministry, along with its maintenance contractors, is collaborating with local governments, Indigenous communities and stakeholders to ensure a co-ordinated and safe approach to the repairs.
