Inaugural Guns vs Hoses raises over $9K for charity

Firefighters and RCMP officers faced off in a successful charity hockey game.

The Guns vs Hoses game at Kal Tire Place Saturday, March 29, raised over $9,300 for charity.

International Association of Firefighters Local 1517 in Vernon said the event saw 500 people turn out to the game and even more attend the barbeque event outside the arena ahead of the matchup.

The firefighters defeated the police 6-3 in the game.
