Road safety advocate warns of slick Okanagan highways
A group that promotes road safety is warning drivers of icy conditions on highways in the Okanagan.
Road Safety at Work said sub-zero temperatures in the Okanagan could create slick road conditions, and warns motorists to be cautious when behind the wheel.
“When the roads are icy you not only have to watch yourself, you have to watch for others sliding into your path,” Trace Acres, program director for Road Safety at Work, said.
“The best advice is to postpone your trip if possible. If you have to drive, you need to anticipate hazards that could put you and your passengers at risk and be prepared to react quickly.”
