City of Vernon signs deal to maintain local Restorative Justice services
A service that resolves conflicts and crimes will continue to be offered in Vernon.
The city has signed an agreement to provide the Canada Mental Health Association with $44,858 so it can maintain it’s Restorative Justice program in Vernon.
The contract calls for the services to be maintained through 2025, with the option to renew it on one-year terms through to the end of 2027.
Restorative Justice is a service that sees the victims and perpetrators of crime meet in a mediated setting to come to a resolution and find agreements between the parties that address the impacts of the crimes, outside of the court system.
