Police say no one else played a role in the fatal semi-truck crash at Sicamous’s Bruhn Bridge Saturday.

B.C. RCMP said the investigation into the crash showed the truck struck the west end of the bridge as it descended down the hill August 24. The truck then struck the north side curb, crossed the bridge deck, and went through the south side railing. It plunged into the Sicamous Narrows channel.

Evidence from the scene confirmed no other vehicle or vehicles contributed to the collision, police say.

The driver and sole occupant of the truck was not initially found, and divers were brought in and able to locate the driver, who was deceased.

The bridge was closed temporarily, and repair work was planned for the week of August 26.

The truck was removed from the channel, and resources were deployed to contain a diesel fuel spill.

Police continue to investigate on the collision, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Sicamous RCMP at 250-836-2878.
