B.C.’s four major parties have have named their candidates for the Columbia River-Revelstoke riding.

Andrea Dunlop, a high school teacher with three decades of experience, was named the B.C. NDP candidate for the riding.

The party said Dunlop has been a board member of the Windermere Community Association for the past 10 years, and is deeply involved with community work.

“I grew up in small town B.C., and built my career there. I want to meet the big challenges we all face with rigorous and evidence-based action,” Dunlop said.

“The BC NDP has been acting on the issues we care about: housing for people, healthcare we can count on, and a more affordable day-to-day life. We are in your corner.”

The Conservative Party of B.C. also announced that AJ Wolfe, who has over 25 years experience in the construction sector, was their candidate for the riding.

The party said Wolfe has shown himself to be a leader, pointing to his work mentoring others in the industry, and that he is ready to address the challenges people in the Kootenays face.

A direct quote from Wolfe was not provided by the Conservatives.

The candidates join Calvin Beauchesne, who was announced as the BC Greens candidate in January, and Scott McInnis, the BCU candidate who was named in April, as in the running for the Columbia River-Revelstoke MLA seat

The provincial election is scheduled for October 19.
