Police investigating vandalism at Vernon airport

The RCMP is investigating a mischief case that occurred at the Vernon Regional Airport and resulted in a plane being damaged.

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP say three individuals climbed the perimeter fence at the airport and got onto the airfield at approximately 11 p.m. on April 20.

Once on the property, the suspects accessed and climbed in and out of several aircraft on the ground, one of which suffered several thousand dollars worth of damage.

“We’re releasing these photographs to the public hoping someone will either know who they are, or will have information that will assist in furthering our investigation,” Constable Chris Terleski, media relations officer for the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP, stated.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspects, or who have information that may assist in the investigation, is asked to call the RCMP at 250-545-7171, or to file an anonymous report with Crime Stoppers online or at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
