Safety enhancements planned for Vernon park, playground closed

The playground at Vernon’s Civic Memorial Park will be temporarily closed for safety enhancement work next week.

Crews will be replacing the wood chips on the ground around the swing and slide sections of the playground with rubberized surfacing.

Work is expected to begin as early as Monday, April 29, and be completed by Friday, May 3. During this period, the area will be fenced off and inaccessible to the public.

Signage with information about the closure will be installed at the park.
