Streak of Awards Continues for Applewood

Since the inaugural Best of the Best awards, locals have voted Applewood Heating and Air Conditioning as the best year after year. This most recent round was no exception. Applewood took home the hardware for 2024 in three categories:

• Best Electrician
• Best Heating and Air Conditioning Company
• Best Place to Buy A BBQ

They also recently received the Centurion Outstanding Dealer Performance award from HVAC manufacturer, Lennox.

Applewood has been serving the Vernon area for over 25 years. We spoke to general manager Ken Levinski to learn more about the company his parents, Anne and Al Levinski, opened in 1997. “It’s always been a family business, you know, fairly small, but we have grown in the last few years especially.”

but we do try to treat our staff as family. A lot of them have been here for 10 or 15 years. One staff member is hitting his twenty-year anniversary. So we have people who’ve been here for a very, very long time, and we feel like they’re here because we’ve taken good care of them.”

Levinksi noted that some staff have been with the company since he was a child. “For me they basically are family.”

The team is also a huge part of the Feel the Love program, which provides a deserving person in need with a free furnace. Lennox donates the equipment to the dealer, and Applewood handles the local nominations and installs the equipment at no charge.

“Our staff volunteer to do the work, so we definitely couldn’t do it without them. And we always get an overwhelming response from our staff when the Feel the Love weekend comes up.”

Feel the Love, which Lennox administers and sponsors, is an example of why the manufacturer has always been a good fit for Applewood.

“Mostly because they’re a higher-end product, and we know there’s quality we can stand behind,” Levinski said. “But they also share similar values to us being a family business. That is very important to us.”

The Centurion award recognizes the top 5% Lennox dealers across North America. Rather than solely a sales award, it considers a combination of criteria including customer service, quality of installation and service, and the dealer’s approach toward employee development and training.

Locally, the Best of the Best Awards show that our community also appreciates what Applewood Heating and Air Conditioning brings to the market.

The award for Best Electrician recognizes a division the business recently added in 2022. Applewood also sells, installs and services furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and air filtration units.

Their showroom displays barbecues, accessories, and replacement parts – and won them Best Place to Buy A BBQ. They also carry products like filters for HVAC units. Regarding stocking the filters, Levinski noted allergies and wildfire season and that the filters can help people breathe easier in their homes.

Now in their 27^th year, Applewood continues to consider their employees, customers, and community. That’s a win for everyone.
