Vipers sweep Spruce Kings, clinch home ice in first round
The Vernon Vipers are down to the final two games of their regular season and still have a shot at finishing in third place in the BC Hockey League’s Interior Conference.
The Vipers, under interim head coach Lukas Lomicky, won both games over the Spruce Kings in Prince George this weekend, 1-0 on Friday and 3-1 on Saturday before making the long bus trip home.
In the opening game, Ethan David made 34 saves for his fourth shutout of the season. Karvina, Czechia product Adam Csabi scored the lone goal 56 seconds into the first period, his 20th of the campaign.
That victory secured home ice advantage in the first playoff round for the Snakes, starting April 5.
