Second biggest crowd of season for Vipers-Spruce Kings match-up

Thousands of hockey fans came out to Kal Tire Place this weekend to see the Vernon Vipers in action.

On Friday night, a crowd of 3,060 watched the Snakes defeat the Prince George Spruce Kings 7-5.

Isaac Tremblay and Luke Pakulak both scored two goals for Vernon while Kilian McGregor-Bennett netted a pair for the Kings.

The Vipers said it was the second largest crowd of the season.

On Saturday night, the West Kelowna Warriors scored three straight in the third period for a 4-2 win over the Vipers, led by the goal and two assists from Callum Hughes.

Adam Csabi and Isaac Tremblay scored for Vernon before 2,091 fans.

The Vipers are fourth in the Interior Conference at 27-18-1-0, two points back of the third place Salmon Arm Silverbacks who lost 4-1 to the Trail Smoke Eaters Saturday.

The Vipers visit the Merritt Centennials on Friday, March 8.
