Okanagan man wins $100K lotto prize

A Penticton resident has taken home some significant cash in a lottery win.

Steven Wilson won $100,000 in the December 23, 2023, Lotto 6/49 draw, but didn’t have it checked until nearly a month later.

When he did find out about his win, he couldn’t believe it immediately.

“Once I found out I won it took three days to sink in,” Wilson told the B.C. Lottery Corporation (BCLC).

Wilson added he didn’t have his glasses when he scanned the ticket and only saw “a lot of zeros” and had to get the ticket double checked by the clerk.

He then shared the news of the win with his partner and kids, who were “very excited.”

Wilson has a few plans for his winnings, including taking a vacation to Italy, expanding his real estate portfolio, and gifting some of it to his kids.
