UPDATE: One person taken to hospital following medical emergency in Armstrong

One person was taken to hospital following an incident in Armstrong Friday afternoon (Dec. 29).

B.C. Emergency Health Services confirmed that paramedics attended a call at the Len Wood middle school at approximately 1:45 p.m.

“An air ambulance, two ground ambulances and an advanced care responder unit responded. Paramedics cared for and transported one patient by air ambulance to hospital,” Paramedic Public Information Officer, Brian Twaites, told Vernon Matters in an emailed statement.

Details on the medical emergency, including the condition of the patient, were not disclosed.

Paramedics are on the scene of an unknown incident in Armstrong.

Reports to Vernon Matters stated an air ambulance, two ambulances and a B.C. Ambulance SUV were at the Len Wood middle school at approximately 2:45 p.m.Friday, Dec. 29.

The Superintendent of School District 83 was not immediately available to provide a statement to Vernon Matters, and it’s not known who is involved in the situation as the school is empty of students for the winter break.

B.C. Ambulance had also not responded to a request to comment as of time of publication.
