Part of busy Vernon street to be closed for water work

Part of a busy north-south corridor through Vernon will be closed to vehicle traffic for one day this week.

The City of Vernon said 29th Street will be closed to through traffic between 39th and 41st Avenues (north of the roundabout) starting as early as 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9.

A detour will be available on 28th Street (see map below).

The closure is needed for crews to conduct upgrades to water infrastructure. The work is expected to be completed by the end of day.
