UPDATE: No injuries in Vernon plane crash

UPDATE 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, July 25

No one was injured in a plane crash at the Vernon Regional Airport Tuesday.

Vernon Fire Rescue Services responded to a report of the crash at 12:05 p.m. July 25.

The City of Vernon stated firefighters arrived on the scene and confirmed the small aircraft had exited the runway while trying to land.

The pilot and lone occupant was uninjured, and the plane sustained minor damage.

Airport crews inspected the runway and did not find any damage from the crash.

The incident did result in a delay of airport operations, but the runway opened again shortly after the investigation.

The city stated Transport Canada and NAV Canada were notified of the incident.

An airplane has reportedly crashed at the Vernon Regional Airport.

Dispatch reported the crash shortly after 12 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25.

Further reports stated airport personnel were on the scene and the occupants of the aircraft were uninjured and there was no fire. Those details were confirmed shortly after by Vernon Fire Rescue Services.

The crash was reportedly minor and the runway remained open.
