City crews will be undertaking drainage improvement work on Tronson Road in Vernon over the next several months.

The city says work on three separate portions of the road will start this week and end next spring.

The project involves ditching improvements from Adventure Bay to Foster Road, ditching and storm main upgrades near the current sanitary lift station, and ditching and storm main improvements upstream of Kenny Lane.

Work is expected to go through mid-December, weather permitting, then pause and be picked up again in the new year.

The city stated the drainage activities should be fully complete some time in April.

While the construction work is underway, motorists may experience some traffic delays, though measures will be put in place to minimize impacts to commuters.

Drivers are reminded to slow down and be cautious when travelling through work zones.
