CSRD to provide election results after polls close

Oct 14, 2022 | 4:30 PM

The Columbia Shuswap Regional District said residents can follow the election on its website on Saturday night for up-to-date results from around the region.

The CSRD will be posting preliminary election results as they are compiled in real time for the Town of Golden and Electoral Area A Indoor Aquatic Centre Assent Vote (Referendum) and from Electoral Areas C, D, E and F.

All polls close at 8 p.m. (local time).

Three candidates have already been declared elected by acclamation:

Karen Cathcart in Electoral Area A (Rural Golden)

David Brooks-Hill in Electoral Area B (Rural Revelstoke)

Natalya Melnychuk in Electoral Area G (Blind Bay, Sorrento, Notch Hill)

Preliminary results are based on the ballot accounts prepared at each of the voting places and are subject to determination of official election results by the chief election officer

The link to the results will be posted on the Preliminary Elections Results page of the CSRD website Saturday evening for those interested in getting election result information.

Please remember to refresh your website often to view the most current data as it is posted.

The CSRD will also be posting updates to the CSRD’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram platforms as soon as possible.

Due to multiple time zones in the CSRD, the results for the Town of Golden and Electoral Area A Assent Vote (referendum) will be available following the close of the polls at 8 p.m. Mountain Standard Time, while the remainder of the results will not be posted until after the polls close at 8 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.
