Business flexing muscles with fitness centre sale

Choices for gym users, or people planning to get in shape in Vernon, just became a lot simpler.

World Health and Fitness, which already operates two gyms in Vernon, has now purchased Fitness West.

The parent company owns Ladies World at 4406 27th Street in Vernon, which has been in business for 20 years.

A more recent entry into the local fitness market has been World Health and Fitness in the Village Green Hotel complex, the Riviera Plaza & Conference Centre.

“The biggest question members at all the locations are asking is whether they can use their passes at other locations, and we are working to activate that,” World Health and Fitness general manager, Denise Hayhurst, told Vernon Matters.

There are an estimated 5,000 members between the three facilities. There should also be some additional opportunities for staff to work in different locations.

“We are currently looking at how to blend our teams. Our goal is to have one big happy family,” Hayhurst said.

The financial details of the sale have not been disclosed.
