Residents displaced by house fire

A home was damaged by an overnight fire in West Kelowna.

West Kelowna Fire Rescue was dispatched to the 1500 block of Klein Road around 12:30 a.m.

“On arrival, crews found advanced fire conditions located in the basement on the back side of the residence,” said deputy chief Chad Gartrell.

Gartrell said crews were able to knock down the fire and complete a primary search for occupants.

“All residents made it out safely and are placed in the care of ESS [emergency social services] until alternate arrangements can be made. The homeowners are insured for fire damage,” said the deputy chief.
