John Deere lawn tractors recalled due to injury risk

Jul 7, 2022 | 11:45 AM

A recall order has been issued for John Deere lawn tractors due to injury hazard.

Health Canada reports the rear wheel hubs may fail on the lawn tractor, resulting in a lack of braking and propulsion.

As of June 30, John Deere had received three reports of incidents in Canada, but no injuries. In the United States, there had been 29 reports of incidents and one injury.

The recall involves green and yellow lawn tractors of various deck sizes. The machines have the words ‘John Deere’ and a model number of either X380 or X390 printed on the side.

The recalled lawn tractors can be identified by the following model and product verification numbers.

Owners are advised to immediately stop using the recalled lawn tractors and to contact an authorized John Deere dealer for a free inspection and repair.

Consumers can also contact Deere & Company at 800-537-8233 or online for further information.
