The break-in occurred in the overnight hours of Sunday, Feb. 27, the second time this month the store has been targeted.

“Well, the downtown has become a terrible place,” the posting stated. “But caught thief on camera, and police might know who it is.”

The store sells used and new books, jewellery, rocks and crystals.

The thief was said to have used a 2×4 to smash a case inside.

“Made a complete mess. Will be posting pics of stolen items once we clean up. They caused 1000’s of dollars worth of damage to window and all the product they smashed.”

The store said the thief took fossilized coral agate obelisk, and a tiger eye merkaba that is golf ball sized (see below).

The business said their security company was on scene “super fast.”

Vernon Matters reached out to RCMP for further details.

Constable Chris Terleski, media relations officer, said officers attended the business around 4:00 a.m.Sunday and found the storefront glass smashed.

“No one was found inside and police were met by a property representative who confirmed several items had been stolen from the business. Video surveillance from inside the business captured the incident and police are continuing to investigate,” Terleski told Vernon Matters.

Anyone with information related to the break in is asked to contact the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP at (250) 545-7171.
