WHL playoffs to begin April 22

The Western Hockey League announced today its 2022 playoffs will begin Friday, April 22, allowing for an update to the regular season schedule, including the rescheduling of postponed games.

The revised schedule can be found at the following LINK. The regular season is now scheduled to end on Sunday, April 17. Should tie-breaker games be needed, they will be held on Tuesday, April 19.

The 2022 playoffs will feature the reintroduction of the conference playoff format, including three best-of-seven rounds followed by a best-of-seven WHL championship series, set for June 3-14.

Following the championship series, the 2022 Memorial Cup, presented by Kia, will be held June 20-29 in Saint John, N.B.
