Two North Okanagan agencies to benefit from provincial accessibility funding
The Cherryville Community Food and Resource Society and the Arts Council of North Okanagan are going to be able to increase accessibility to their facilities through new provincial funding.
These recipients are two of 15 across the province getting grants through B.C.’s Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction in order to allow more people to participate fully in the community.
The Community Food and Resource Society, which works in partnership with the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO), has been awarded a grant of $12,132, while the Arts Council has received $10,525.
These funds are being distributed in an effort to enhance inclusion for people with disabilities in areas like employment, emergency planning and response, arts, culture and tourism, sports and recreation, education and learning, and community participation across the province.
