Police say they are actively investigating an incident where a toilet paper roll, soaked in some sort of accelerant, was thrown through a window of a Vernon law firm, and graffiti was spray painted outside the building.

Mounties say the damage was discovered Friday morning by an employee in the 3000 block of 28th Street.

“Inside the business, staff found some discarded material that is considered suspicious and indicates the person responsible for the damage may have intended to cause a fire,” Constable Chris Terleski, media relations officer for Vernon North Okanagan RCMP, told Vernon Matters.

“Police are actively investigating the incident and ask anyone, who may have information that may assist investigators, to please contact Constable Soomal of the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP at (250) 545-7171,” Terleski stated.
