Vaccine proof now required for public skating in B.C.

Oct 29, 2021 | 11:00 AM

People who take part in public skating will now have to show proof of being double vaccinated against COVID-19 in British Columbia.

It’s part of changes made this week to the province’s vaccine program as it applies to recreational programming.

“Effective immediately, proof of double vaccination will be required for all public skate participants aged 12 years and older,” said a City of Vernon news release.

“Please ensure you bring your BC Vaccine Card and government-issued photo ID for all adults, to all public skate sessions. A reminder that masks are required to be worn at all times with in recreation facilities, for everyone 5 years and older. Masks are optional when moving on the ice surface,” the release added.
