Candidates can enter Vernon byelection this week

People interested in a seat on Vernon council can start filing their nomination papers as of 9:00 a.m. Tuesday (Oct. 19) at city hall.

Residents will be voting in a byelection on Dec.4, which was required after the passing of councillor Dalvir Nahal last month.

The position will last until next October, 2022 when the next municipal elections are held as part of a four- year cycle.

Nominations will close at 4:00 p.m. on Oct. 29

Five days of advance voting will be held, starting Nov. 24 at the Schubert Centre.
