Vernon Immigrant Services ‘Who Do You Miss?’ campaign in the running for $100,000 prize
The Vernon and District Immigrant and Community Service Society’s (VDICSS) ‘Who Do You Miss?’ video campaign is in the running for a $100,000 grand prize from the Public Health Agency of Canada.
The series of videos featuring local immigrants and aimed at increasing vaccine confidence in newcomers to Canada was launched earlier this summer as part of the Public Agency of Canada’s Vaccine Community Innovation Challenge.
Since being launched, the videos have been viewed over 12,000 times on Facebook alone.
“We have received some great anecdotal stories from clients and their families and friends who have gone out and received their first and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine,” said Philipp Gruner, CEO at VDICSS. “Our goal with this campaign remains to inform and help answer any questions newcomers to Canada may have regarding the vaccine and COVID, in general. We’re very appreciative of the support Interior Health has provided.”
