Evacuation Order rescinded for Crazy Creek Gorge

Aug 20, 2021 | 2:28 PM

The Crazy Creek Gorge Evacuation Order has been downgraded to an Alert.

The Columbia Shuswap Regional District says the residents located at Pete Martin Bay and Queest Village are now able to return to their properties.

The public is advised to be cautious when returning following an evacuation, as hazards such as downed power lines, unstable ground, and gas leaks may be present. People are advised to be cautious when entering their properties, to check their refrigerators and freezers and throw out any spoiled food, to photograph any damage for insurance claims, and to be aware of wild animals that may have been displaced by the fire.

Anyone who wants to report power outages should call B.C. Hydro, while reports of animals in distress should be made to the B.C. Conservation office
