The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) will support an application to the Agriculture Land Commission for a land swap that is the cornerstone of a business plan to expand tourism activities at the ranch.

Lone Pine ownership converted a hip roof barn on the property several years ago for use as a wedding and event venue, which is across from Predator Ridge Golf Resort.

The latest proposal calls for a 1,500 square metre dwelling with five luxury bed and breakfast suites.

The application also states that the business plan contemplates a vineyard and associated wine business on adjacent Lone Pine Ranch parcels. Agri-tourism activities including, but not limited to, wine tasting, horseback riding, bird watching, and nature exploration are also being considered. Use of the property as a winter ski retreat is also proposed.

The application is to exclude 8 hectares of property from the Agricultural Land Reserve in return for an 8 hectare inclusion on another portion of the property.

There would also be a 20 metre right of way granted through the property for a public accessible hiking trail.
