Mystery continues over man who went missing ten years ago

RCMP continue to search for clues 10 years after a man’s disappearance in the Shuswap.

Chase RCMP is appealing to the general public for any information surrounding the unexplained disappearance of Shayne Murray Robinson in 2010, as it continues its investigation into a decade old missing person’s case.

Robinson was last heard from on July 23, 2010 and reported to the Chase RCMP as a missing person on July 28, 2010. Although he originated from Edmonton Alberta, Shayne was living in Celista B.C. at the time of his disappearance.

He was in the process of moving to the Barriere area, and had borrowed his mother’s vehicle, a grey 2004 Dodge Ram 4-door pickup truck with Alberta licence plate YND 082, to make the move.

On Saturday July 24, 2010 at approximately 2 a.m., that vehicle was recovered abandoned by the Barriere RCMP on Enterprise Way in Louis Creek near Barriere BC.

Description of Shayne Murray Robinson at the time of his disappearance:

Caucasian male;
40 years;
5 ft 10 in (178 cm);
232 lbs (105 kg);
brown hair;
blue eyes;

“The Chase RCMP remains dedicated in determining what happened to Shayne,” stated Sgt. Barry Kennedy, Chase RCMP Detachment Commander. “We hope to be able to offer Shayne’s loved one’s answers to the questions they have carried with them for a decade now.”

RCMP is seeking any information with respect to the activities leading up to the disappearance of Mr. Robinson, or any information surrounding the abandonment of his mother’s grey Dodge Ram pickup truck in the Barriere area.

Anyone with information on the current whereabouts of Shayne is urged to contact their local police, the Chase RCMP at 250-679-3221 or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
