Masks strongly encouraged in Salmon Arm
The mayor and council of Salmon Arm have taken an extra preventative measure on the Covid-19 safety front.
Mayor Alan Harrison and council have issued a statement, that strongly encourages residents and visitors to wear a face covering or non-medical mask in all indoor public settings where two metres of separation can’t be maintained.
“Right now, perhaps more than ever, it is critically important that we follow public health direction and take personal responsibility to protect ourselves, loved ones and the community from the spread of COVID-19,” read the statement.
The council points out wearing a face covering or non-medical mask is an additional measure that everyone can take to protect themselves and others, but does not replace other measures like regular hand washing, cleaning and disinfecting surfaces regularly, and maintaining a two-metre distance from others and staying home if you feel unwell.
