The province is reporting 30 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday (July 21), including 11 new cases within Interior Health.

In a news release, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry says the 30 cases bring the provincial total to 3,328. That is just 28 higher than yesterday, a discrepancy the health ministry credits to a data correction.

Interior Health says more than 70 cases are associated with the Kelowna cluster today with further investigations ongoing.

That’s up from 60 on Monday.

IH is not reporting any additional Kelowna General Hospital cases today (still at 6).

The 3,328 cases are spread through the province as follows:

  • 1,043 (Vancouver Coastal)
  • 1,731 (Fraser Health)
  • 140 (Island Health)
  • 291 (Interior Health)
  • 69 (Northern Health)
  • 54 (Reside outside of Canada)

One of the 30 new cases reported Tuesday is epidemiologically linked to other cases.

There are 266 active cases of COVID-19 in B.C., including 15 patients who are hospitalized and three in intensive care.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the provincial death toll at 189.

Of the total, 2,873 people are considered fully recovered, or 86 per cent.
