Water will run, facilities closed

The health and safety of Armstrong residents are the city’s top priorities during the Covid-19 outbreak, says Community Services manager Warren Smith.

“The City is taking both a short-term and long-term approach to managing our response,” said Smith. “We want to assure our residents that the City will continue to provide essential services such as water, sewer, and road services.

“Further, emergency response, including fire and road rescue, will continue to be provided.”

While city hall remains open, other community facilities have been shut.

Smith asked that, where possible when dealing with city hall, interactions and communications occur via email, mail, telephone, or fax.

“At this time, all Parks and Recreation facilities are closed until further notice. We are aware of other community services that are closed to the public such as the Armstrong library branch, visitor centre, Chamber of Commerce and museum and art gallery.

“We encourage residents to check websites for up to date information on closures.”
