School District facility rentals cancelled

You won’t be able to rent a school district facility in the Vernon area until further notice.

As a result of the B.C. government’s announcement Tuesday regarding school closures, School District 22 (Vernon) is now limiting public access to all school district sites by cancelling all facility rentals indefinitely.

“This preventative action is to assist in curbing the spread of COVID-19 and support health official requests for enhanced social distancing,” said a news release from Maritza Reilly, communications coordinator for SD 22.

The cancellations affect any scheduled school events, district programs/events, community (youth and adult) groups and non-profit societies.

During this time of closure, we also ask that any staff who need to enter District buildings, to please refrain from bringing in additional family members in to the schools,” Reilly added.

Community groups who had events scheduled at an School District 22 site will be receiving communication from the school rentals department. Alternatively, questions or concerns can be sent to maintenance@sd22.bc.ca.
