Search and Rescue gets new truck

Vernon Search and Rescue (VSAR) will be even better equipped to deal with emergency situations.

The volunteer association, which has been operating since 1960, is adding a new 2020 Chevy Silverado 3500 to its fleet, after getting some help from Bannister GM Vernon.

VSAR, which has about 65 volunteers, said it’s first new vehicle they have added in 12 years.

Brad Kiggins from VSAR said the dealership gave them the best price they could.

“Money that we used to purchase the truck was raised by the Lambert family from the golf tournament held last July,” Kiggins told Vernon Matters.
